Why is Regular Maintenance Crucial?

• UV Lamp: Must be replaced annually. A lamp's germicidal effectiveness (its UV-C output) fades significantly after 9000 hours. Even if the lamp is still lit, it no longer has the power to guarantee your water is safe from bacteria and viruses.

• Quartz Sleeve: This is the crucial component that protects the lamp and allows UV light to pass into the water. In hard water areas like Markham, mineral scaling can cloud the sleeve, blocking the UV light and reducing performance. It should be cleaned regularly and replaced if stained, scratched, or broken.
