Slimline 2.5" × 20" (5 µm) cartridges for point-of-entry (small homes/lines) or point-of-use polishing. Pair with a standard 2.5" × 20" housing. Not for Big Blue (4.5" diameter) housings.
What it does
Protects downstream systems (UV, softener/descaler, RO, heaters, fixtures) by capturing fines and/or improving taste & odor.
Municipal water: pair carbon (CTO/GAC) for chlorine & T&O; use sediment ahead of carbon.
Well water: stage sediment → carbon to reduce turbidity before UV/primary treatment.
Compatibility Fits any standard slimline 2.5" × 20" housing at POE or POU. Works as a pre-filter before UV and undersink RO.
Variants
PP Melt-Blown Sediment — 5 µm
Use: Everyday depth filtration; high dirt-holding.
Best for: General sediment (sand/silt/rust).
Replacement:4–9 months, sooner if pressure drop rises 10–15 psi or water turns cloudy.
PS Spun Sediment — 5 µm
Use: Spun depth media with graded density; handles variable loads.
Best for: Seasonal/turbidity swings.
Replacement:4–9 months (same triggers as above).
PL Pleated Sediment — 5 µm
Use: High surface area; low pressure drop; can be lightly rinsed to restore flow.
Best for: Higher flow / lower inlet pressure.
Replacement:6–12 months (rinse as needed; no soaps/solvents).
CTO Carbon Block — 5 µm
Use: Taste & odor, chlorine reduction; some blocks also address chloramine.
Best for: Municipal water polishing.
Placement: After a sediment stage.
Replacement:6–12 months or when taste/odor returns.
GAC Granular Carbon — 5 µm
Use: Taste & odor improvement; chlorine reduction; good contact time in tall housings.
Best for: Municipal water with chlorine/organic aftertaste.
Placement: After a sediment stage.
Replacement:6–9 months or sooner if flavor changes.
Notes & safety
Replace sooner with dirty/colored water, taste/odor return, or +10–15 psi pressure drop.
Carbon cartridges do not disinfect; for microbiological risks use UV (with proper pre-filtration).
Dimensions are nominal; follow your housing’s O-ring and rating guidelines.
